I try to apply the idea of ​​"en" (connections) to my work, which emphasizes relationships. Our logo, "en" literally means circle or ring, symbolizing the idea that the remote islands of Hawaii are connected to other islands on Earth by the infinite ocean. For me, growing up in Japan, "en" was a natural part of everyday life and in business. En is a concept based on Eastern philosophy, and simply explained as "an encounter with a person or thing," but there is an important nuance that the encounter is guided by fate or supported by an external force. That is why I believe that we must cherish, respect, and nurture those connections. Japanese people often express their gratitude for "en," but when I moved to Hawaii, I felt that there were many similarities between the two cultures, especially in the values ​​that value one-on-one relationships.
